You paid for the colour once. Everything after that is a slow argument between the pigment in your hair and the things you do to it — water temperature, sulfates, heat, sun, and how often you wash. Pureology exists to win that argument, but the products only do part of the work.

What actually fades colour
Sulfates. Sodium lauryl and sodium laureth sulfate are efficient detergents. They lift oil, dirt — and dissolved colour pigment — out of the fibre together. This is the single largest controllable cause of fade, and it is the reason Pureology's whole range is built on ZeroSulfate® cleansing.
Hot water. Heat swells the cuticle and lets pigment out. Warm, not hot, and a cool final rinse.

What will not help
