KMS describes ColorVitality Shampoo as gently cleansing, protecting against colour fading and keeping colour vibrant for up to 20 washes. The brand specifically calls out two causes of fade it is built against: the shampooing itself, and free radicals from UV exposure. It is listed for all hair types, straight to coily. ColorVitality Conditioner makes combing easier, hydrates and increases shine; leave it in for two minutes and rinse.
The third piece is the ColorVitality Intense Gloss Treatment, a rinse-out mask that KMS describes as a bond-building formula restoring the protein structure responsible for resilience, with the strength and shine benefits that go with it. Use it in place of the conditioner once a week, or after every wash in the first two weeks after a colour service when the cuticle is most open.

ColorVitality Blonde is a two-product system, and it is aimed at tone rather than fade. KMS describes ColorVitality Blonde Shampoo as illuminating blondes and fighting yellowing of lightened, highlighted, natural blonde, grey or white hair after just one use; the current product page lists neutralizing unwanted warm tones, protecting against hard-water mineral accumulation and gentle cleansing among its benefits. ColorVitality Blonde Conditioner enhances cool tones, keeps blondes from becoming too warm between colour services, hydrates and makes combing easier.
These are violet-toning products, and the usual rules apply: start with one wash a week alongside your regular shampoo and increase only if warmth returns, because over-toning very porous or very pale blonde can leave a lilac cast. On darker hair with a few highlights they will only act on the light pieces.

For colour-treated hair the practical uses are: one wash before a colour appointment so the colour goes onto clean hair, and one wash every couple of weeks when colour starts looking flat. Repair, when the colour service left hair weak: MoistRepair
Bleach and repeated colour thin the hair’s internal structure. MoistRepair Intense Restore Treatment (100 ml or 500 ml) is the KMS mask described as bond-building (hydrogen and ionic bonds) for highly damaged hair; KMS states it is applied to lengths and ends after shampooing for three to five minutes. If hair is snapping rather than fading, this replaces the Intense Gloss Treatment as the weekly step. For daily support, MoistRepair Leave-In Conditioner (150 ml) is sprayed on towel-dried hair and is credited by KMS with reducing breakage and split ends, and MoistRepair Conditioner can stand in for the ColorVitality conditioner on days the hair feels straw-like. Heat protection: ThermaShape
Hot tools fade colour and stress lightened hair. KMS lists heat protection up to 230 °C / 446 °F on ThermaShape Quick Blow Dry (towel-dried hair before blow-drying, also speeds up drying) and on ThermaShape 2-in-1 Spray (dry hair before a flat iron or curling iron). Use whichever matches how you style. HairStay Working Hairspray also lists heat protection up to 230 °C if you want a finishing spray that doubles as protection.
A gentler sulfate-free wash for fine coloured hair: ConsciousStyle
If you have fine, colour-treated hair and prefer a sulfate-free cleanser, KMS states that ConsciousStyle Everyday Shampoo and ConsciousStyle Everyday Conditioner are free from SLS/SLES sulfates and silicones and safe for colour-treated hair. We stock them in 75 ml only, which makes them a cheap way to try a sulfate-free routine or a travel pair. They are not marketed with the 20-wash colour-protection claim of ColorVitality.

FAQ
Can I use ColorVitality Blonde every wash?
You can, but most blondes do not need to. Start with once a week and adjust by how warm the hair looks between washes; very light or porous hair picks up violet faster.
Does ColorVitality work on grey hair that is not coloured?
The Blonde pair is the one KMS lists for grey and white hair, because yellowing is the issue there. Regular ColorVitality is aimed at colour-treated hair.
Is ColorVitality sulfate-free?
KMS does not market the ColorVitality shampoo on a sulfate-free claim, and formula attributes vary across the KMS range. Check the ingredient list on the product page; if sulfate-free is a requirement, the ConsciousStyle 75 ml pair is the KMS option that carries that claim.
How soon after colouring should I wash?
Follow your colourist. As a general rule, waiting 48 hours before the first wash and using lukewarm water afterwards helps; a colour-care shampoo helps most in those first two weeks.
