Choosing the size
The Altesse Studio comes in two sizes. The Small (about 18 × 4.5 cm) suits short to medium hair: it is easier to steer around the head on a bob or shoulder-length cut, and it fits in a bag. The Large (about 22 × 6 cm) suits medium to long hair: the wider head covers more hair per stroke, so brushing out long lengths takes less time.
If you share a brush between people with different hair lengths, the Large is the more versatile choice. If you want one for your bag or gym kit, take the Small.
Boar or nylon?

How to brush
Brush dry or mostly dry hair only — wet hair is fragile and can break. Brush from the roots to the ends to reduce tangles and breakage, and on thick or long hair work in sections so the bristles reach through every layer.
How to clean a cushion brush
- Lift trapped hair out of the bristles with the end of a tail comb.
- Soak the brush briefly in warm water with a little shampoo.
- Rinse well.
- Leave it to dry bristles-down so water does not collect in the cushion.
Clean more often if you use styling products, since residue builds up on the bristles and is brushed back into clean hair.
