Most people do not shop by brand line. They shop by the thing that is annoying them. This guide maps the complaints we hear most often onto the exact Insight products that address them — and tells you when an Insight product is not the answer.
1. Frizz
Frizz is usually a moisture and cuticle problem: the cuticle is lifted, humidity gets in, and the hair swells. Insight's answer is the Anti-Frizz line, which it names the Hydrating family.
Start with: Insight Anti-Frizz Hydrating Shampoo, then Insight Anti-Frizz Hydrating Conditioner at every wash. Organic amaranth and linseed extracts with cottonseed oil and cocoa butter do the work.
Then add, for styling: Insight Oil Non Oil — a water-based anti-frizz fluid, despite the name — or Insight Liquid Crystals for shine.
What will not fix frizz: a violet shampoo. Anti-Yellow is a tone product, not a smoothing one.
2. Dryness
Dryness and frizz get confused constantly. Frizzy hair is fluffy and uncontrollable; dry hair feels rough and looks dull. If yours feels rough, the Dry Hair line — Insight's Nourishing family — is the better starting point.
Start with: Insight Dry Hair Nourishing Conditioner (100, 400 or 900 ml) with illipé butter, coconut and sweet almond oils. Insight's Dry Hair shampoo is no longer supplied in Canada, so wash with the gentle Insight Anti-Frizz Hydrating Shampoo and finish damp ends with Insight Elasti-Curl Illuminating Hair Oil Serum.
3. Damage from colour, bleach and heat
Hair that breaks, feels hollow or will not hold a style after chemical services needs the Damaged Hair line, which Insight calls Restructurizing: organic wheat extract with argan, rice bran and olive oils.
The routine: Insight Damaged Hair Restructurizing Shampoo, Insight Damaged Hair Restructurizing Conditioner at every wash, Insight Damaged Hair Restructurizing Mask once a week, and Insight Damaged Hair Restructurizing Spray as a no-rinse detangler. 4. Colour fade and brassiness
These are two different problems and they take two different products.
Colour fading — your colour is washing out and going flat. Use the Colored Hair line (Insight's Protective family): Insight Colored Hair Protective Shampoo, Insight Colored Hair Protective Conditioner, and the acid Insight Colored Hair Protective Mask weekly to keep the cuticle sealed.
Brassiness — your blonde or grey is going yellow. That needs pigment: Insight Incolor Anti-Yellow Shampoo deposits a violet dye (CI 60730). Use it when warmth appears, not at every wash.
The trap to avoid: the Neutralizing Shampoo and Mask sound like toning products and are not. They are post-colour pH acidifiers with no pigment, and they are Pro Only.
5. Curls and tangles
Elasti-Curl is complete in our range: Insight Elasti-Curl Pure Mild Shampoo, Insight Elasti-Curl Curly Hair Detangling Mask, Insight Elasti-Curl Leave-In Detangling Hair Milk, Insight Elasti-Curl Bouncy Curls Hair Oil and Insight Elasti-Curl Light Hold Fixative Hair Spray. If detangling is the pain point, the mask and the hair milk matter most.
6. Flat, fine hair
Insight Volumizing Volume Up Shampoo with ginseng, psyllium and white nettle gives fine hair body from the root. Style with Insight Styling Volumizing Shaping Ecomousse, a gas-free pump mousse, or Insight Styling Texturizing Sea Salt Spray, and refresh roots between washes with Insight Daily Use Bodifying Dry Shampoo.
7. Everyday washing, no single big problem
The Daily Use line (Energizing) is made for frequent washing: Insight Daily Use Energizing Shampoo, the light Insight Daily Use Energizing Conditioner and the weightless Insight Daily Use Energizing Mask.
8. Sun, sea and pollution
The Antioxidant line uses carrot extract, a source of beta-carotene: Insight Antioxidant Rejuvenating Shampoo, Insight Antioxidant Rejuvenating Conditioner (or the Insight Antioxidant Rejuvenating Shampoo and Conditioner Duo), Insight Antioxidant Rejuvenating Mask and the leave-in Insight Antioxidant Protective Hair Spray. None of these is a heat protectant.
