Krest comb guide: cutting, sectioning, lift and waves

Choose Krest by the work in your hand: clipper cutting, clean sections, lift or wave placement. Compare Cleopatra, Goldilocks and Specialty references by tooth spacing, spine and tail—not colour alone.

Clipper and barber combs

The 8-inch 9000 Klipper gives you a broad working comb for clipper-over-comb cutting. The tapered 7.25-inch Cleopatra 450 offers a different profile for barbering. Compare spine shape and tooth zones against the way you hold the comb and machine.

Everyday cutting and styling

Compare the 7-inch G4 with the Cleopatra 400 and 420 for general cutting and styling. The manufacturer identifies Goldilocks as Delrin acetal and Cleopatra as nitrile rubber. Choose the feel and profile you prefer; the two 400 listings distinguish black from an assorted-colour single comb.

Pin tails and foiling

The 4630 pairs coarse teeth with a metal pin tail for larger working sections. The 8.5-inch G56 has extra-fine teeth and a stainless-steel pin for foiling. Choose tooth spacing first, then the length and tail control needed for your section pattern.

Lift and teasing

Both lift combs use a 7.75-inch format. Choose G3 for the non-metal pick or G8 for the stainless-steel pick. This is a functional difference in the lifting end, not simply two finishes of the same comb.

Waves and setting

The rounded back of the 7-inch Cleopatra 415 supports finger-wave placement; K1600 is the separate setting-comb reference. Choose the shape that supports your styling motion, rather than replacing a rounded-back wave comb with a flat-back cutting profile.

Choosing with confidence

Which Krest family should I start with?

Start with shape and tooth spacing. Cleopatra covers familiar cutting and waving profiles; Goldilocks includes lift and fine foiling references; Specialty includes the 9000 Klipper and 4630 pin tail.

Can I choose the colour of an assorted comb?

The assorted 9000 and 400 listings describe one comb from the current colour assortment. Use the separate black 400 listing when that exact colour matters.
