Match the protection to your styling step

Heat protection

Choose a heat protectant for how you style: a blow-dry on damp hair, a dry-hair iron touch-up, or a conditioning leave-in with an explicit thermal claim. Compare spray, cream, oil and mousse textures without treating them as interchangeable. The selected product’s directions determine when and how to apply it.

How to choose

Damp-hair preparation

Choose a product intended for the dryer stage. Distribute it as directed before drying; a richer conditioning feel and added styling hold are separate choices.

Dry-hair touch-ups

Select a product explicitly labelled for dry-hair hot-tool use. A damp-hair cream is not automatically the right choice immediately before a flat iron.

Temperature claims

A stated protection limit is product-specific; it is not a recommended tool setting. Choose the lowest setting that works for your hair and follow both product and tool directions.

Your questions, answered

Does every hair oil protect from heat?
No. Select an oil with an explicit thermal claim and suitable use directions. Shine or softness alone does not establish heat protection.
Why are some wash products listed separately?
Some manufacturers describe thermal benefits within a care system. These rinse-out steps have their own directions and should not be treated as an interchangeable leave-in shield.
