Tondeo guide: shear size, handle and razor systems

Build your Tondeo cutting kit around how you work: a familiar offset shear, a longer barber blade, controlled thinning or a replaceable-blade razor. Compare the exact size and handle, then match the razor system to its refill.

Longer cutting formats

Compare the Butler 6.5-inch semi-convex blade with the Earl 7-inch curved DGT blade. Length changes working reach; blade geometry and hand fit remain separate choices. The current Butler listing has an offset grip despite Classic in its name.

Mythos and Supra offset shears

Choose 5.5 or 6 inches for your hand and section length, then compare Mythos and Supra tension controls. These Canadian listings specify Ultra-Slice DGT blades; they should not be assumed identical to newer global Conblade editions. Mythos Black is a separate 5.5-inch finish choice.

Rotating-thumb handling

This 5.5-inch shear offers a rotating thumb with a locking function rather than a fixed thumb ring. Compare the movement with your established hand position and use the tension adjustment independently of the thumb setting.

Supra Fasson thinning

Use the toothed Supra Fasson for blending and selective removal, not the same solid cutting line as a straight shear. Its 42-tooth format and six-inch length identify this model; tooth count alone does not state the percentage removed on every hair type.

Razor handles and blade systems

TM and Kingsguard use TCR blades; the current Sifter uses the longer 62 mm TSS3 system. Comfort Cut accepts its Comfort system, including Comfort Safe refills. Choose working length and handle first, then buy the matching refill. Each linked handle listing states its included ten blades.

Razor blade refills

TCR comes in ten- or hundred-blade packs for the same compact system. Comfort Safe is a different 50 mm blade with a guarded side. The 10 mm Hair Tattoo refill targets detail work and names 1110TMC/1124C compatibility in its listing. Choose the system before comparing pack quantity.

Choosing with confidence

Which refill fits TM and Kingsguard?

Both use the compact TCR system. Compare the ten- and hundred-blade packs for replenishment. Comfort Safe belongs to the Comfort system; it is not a TCR pack in another quantity.

Should I choose size before finish?

Start with hand fit, blade length and cutting task. Compare 5.5 and6 inch Mythos/Supra for your sections, longer Butler/Earl for reach, or the rotating-thumb model for its different thumb movement.
