Kerachroma Color + Clenditioner is a conditioner with semi-permanent colour in it. It cleanses, conditions and deposits pigment in one step, with no developer and no mixing, and the colour fades gradually as you wash. That makes it one of the easiest ways to wear a fashion shade, keep a red or copper bright, or cool down a blonde between salon visits.
The catch is that a deposit-only colour can only add pigment. It cannot lift your hair lighter. So the shade you choose has to suit the hair you start with. This guide walks you through that choice.
Start with your natural level
Look at the lightest part of your hair in daylight and be honest about where it sits:
- Platinum, very light blonde or pre-lightened: every shade shows true to the bottle. Pastels (Light Pink, Mint, Rose Gold, Silver, Silver Blue) and brights (Blue, Emerald, Teal, Hot Pink, Purple, Red) all read clearly.
- Medium to dark blonde: brights and the warm shades (Copper, Honey, Red, Merlot) show well. Pastels will look softer and more like a tint than a colour.
- Light to medium brown: choose the rich shades: Red, Merlot, Copper, Purple, Mocha, Espresso. Expect a glow or reflect in the light rather than a full change.
- Dark brown or black: Onyx and Espresso refresh depth and shine; Red, Merlot and Purple give a tint that shows in sunlight.
Strand-test first. Apply a little to a hidden section, leave it the full time, rinse and dry it. The dry result is what you will get.
The 18 shades, by family
Blonde toners: Platinum, Silver, Silver Blue, Honey
Platinum and Silver deposit cool pigment that knocks back yellow on blonde and grey hair. Silver Blue is a cooler, bluer silver for icy blondes. Honey goes the other way and adds a warm golden tone to a blonde that looks flat or too ashy.
Pastels: Light Pink, Rose Gold, Mint
These need a very light base. On platinum hair a short application gives a soft wash of colour; leave it longer for a stronger pastel.
Brights: Blue, Teal, Emerald, Purple, Hot Pink
Vivid fashion colours. On light hair they are bold; on medium blonde they are still clearly visible. Blue, Teal and Emerald are also good for keeping a salon-done blue or green from fading.
Reds and warm tones: Red, Merlot, Copper
Reds fade faster than any other colour. Using Red, Merlot or Copper in place of your conditioner keeps a salon red, auburn or copper looking fresh between appointments.
Browns and black: Mocha, Espresso, Onyx
Natural-looking depth for brunettes. Use them to refresh faded brown colour or add shine to dark hair.
Which size to buy
- 60 ml (Blue only): a trial size to test the shade before committing.
- 355 ml: the everyday size, available in all 18 shades.
- 1 L: Honey, Light Pink, Platinum, Purple, Rose Gold and Silver. Best value if you use it every wash or have long hair.
How to get the strongest result
- Start with wet or dry hair. Towel-dried hair takes more colour than soaking-wet hair, because water dilutes the pigment.
- Wear gloves, section the hair and apply generously from roots to ends.
- Leave it on for 3 to 20 minutes: a few minutes to refresh, up to 20 for full intensity.
- Rinse with cool water and style as usual.
Repeat with each wash to keep the colour topped up. Between colour washes, cleanse with Kerachroma Clenditioner, which carries no pigment and strips far less than shampoo.
Mixing and customising
You can mix shades or dilute them with Clenditioner to create a lighter version: for example a little Hot Pink in Clenditioner for a softer pink. To fine-tune a blonde, add a few Kerachroma Toning Drops to your conditioner: Violet to cool it, Gold to warm it.

Will it damage my hair?
No developer or ammonia is involved; the colour sits in a conditioning base with keratin, shea butter and plant oils. As with any hair colour, if you have ever reacted to a colour product, do an allergy test 48 hours before use.
How long does the colour last?
It is semi-permanent and fades a little with every wash. How fast depends on your hair's porosity and how often you wash, which is why most people use it every wash or every other wash.
Will it stain my towels or shower?
Bright shades can mark light towels and grout. Rinse surfaces promptly and use a dark towel for the first few washes.
