Why wattage is the wrong first question
Wattage is the electrical draw. It sets a ceiling on how much heat and airflow the dryer can produce; it does not tell you how much of that reaches your hair, how the airflow is shaped, or how many useful combinations of heat and speed you can actually select.
Three of the four dryers here are 1875 W — the Ionic Turbo Salon, the Radiant Blue Turbo Ionic and the Ionic Travel. You would not choose between them on power. You would choose between them on nozzle, controls, filter, weight and whether it folds.
The fourth, the Lite 'n Quiet Turbo, publishes no wattage figure at all. Its spec sheet states no watt number, so we do not print one — what it does state is full turbo airflow and heat with no temperature or airflow limitations, and notably less noise.
The four questions that actually decide it
1. How many heat and speed combinations do you get?
This is the single most useful spec on a dryer, because different stages of a blow-dry want different settings. A rough dry wants hot and fast. A smoothing pass on the brush wants medium heat and lower airflow so the section stays on the brush. A finish wants cool.

2. What shape is the airflow?
Nozzle geometry is what separates a dryer that dries from a dryer that styles. A wide opening dries a whole head quickly and shapes nothing. A narrow opening concentrates the airflow on the exact section under your brush — which is what lets you smooth and shape while you dry, rather than drying first and smoothing after.
The Radiant Blue is the one built around this: it has an extra-narrow nozzle opening, and it is the dryer to buy if precision work on sections is the point. The Ionic Turbo Salon goes the other way — its opening fits most universal diffusers, and it ships with a styling pick and a nozzle, which makes it the more flexible platform if you work on curly hair as well as smooth styles.
3. Can you clean the filter?
The most under-rated spec on any dryer. A dryer pulls air in through a filter; the filter loads up with dust and product; airflow drops; the dryer runs hotter and slower and eventually burns out. A removable filter is the difference between a dryer that performs the same in year three and one that quietly declines.
The Ionic Turbo Salon and the Lite 'n Quiet both have removable filters for cleaning. If you are buying a dryer for daily or professional use, treat this as close to a requirement.
4. Ionic output — what it does and does not do
Ionic output reduces static and flyaway and leaves the cuticle flatter, which reads as shine. It is real, and it is most noticeable on fine, static-prone or frizz-prone hair. It does not dry hair faster and it does not repair anything.

Lite 'n Quiet Turbo — the quiet one
Two speeds, six heat levels — twelve combinations — with full turbo airflow and heat, a removable filter, hanging ring, cord guard and a 2.4 m professional cord. Nozzle and styling pick included. Choose it for a shared home, an early start, or a salon chair where conversation matters. It is energy-efficient with no airflow or temperature limitations, so quiet is not being bought with power.
Ionic Travel — the one that folds
A full 1875 W that folds into a carry-on, with universal voltage, a finger diffuser and a concentrator nozzle in the bag, low-level electromagnetic field, a 1.8 m professional cord, suspension ring and cord guard. The point here is that it is not a compromised travel dryer — it is the same power rating as the salon models with a folding handle and dual voltage.

Three things worth doing whichever you buy
- Rough dry to about 80% before you pick up a brush. Brushing soaking hair stretches it and achieves nothing.
- Finish every section on cool. The cool air jet is not a gimmick — it sets the shape you just made, the same way cooling sets a curl.
- Clean the filter monthly if your dryer has a removable one. It is the cheapest performance upgrade available.
