Insight's professional colour system is called Incolor. ProHair now carries it in depth from Cantin: the Hydra-Color permanent range, its super lighteners, toners and correctors, direct pigments, the Nourishing Color Activator and three lighteners. This guide is written for colourists and salons — every product below is for professional use.
Hydra-Color: the permanent colour
Insight Incolor Hydra-Color Coloring Cream is a low-ammonia, pre-naturalised colour: each shade gives full grey coverage without mixing in its natural base. The Hydra-Color Blend of naturally derived esters buffers the scalp's pH during processing, while plant keratin, organic argan oil and grapeseed butter condition the fibre.
- Mix: 1:1.5 with Nourishing Color Activator.
- Processing: 35 to 40 minutes.
- Numbering: level / reflect — for example 7/31 is a beige blonde, 6/66 a deep red dark blonde, 11/21 a platinum iridescent ash.
High lift: the super lighteners
Insight Incolor Hydra-Color Super Lighteners lift up to three levels on natural levels 8 to 10 — 90/0 natural, 90/3 golden, 91/2 pearl — and the 0/0 Bleaching Booster adds one more. Mix 1:2 with 30 or 40 volume.
Toners and correctors
Insight Incolor Hydra-Color Toners adjust blonde results: Anti-Yellow cools, Gold warms, Caramel and Deep Pink add fashion tone. Insight Incolor Hydra-Color Correctors push or cancel a reflect in any Hydra-Color formula — Ash, Blue, Copper, Green, Purple and Red — never more than 50% of the colouring cream.
Direct colour: Enhancing Color Pigments
Insight Incolor Enhancing Color Pigments are ready to use with no activator: apply to clean, dry hair for 20 minutes. They fade gradually with no regrowth line. Dilute them with Insight Incolor Direct Pigments Hair Mask (up to 40% pigment) for pastels and softer results.
Developer: Nourishing Color Activator
Insight Incolor Nourishing Color Activator is a stabilised cream developer with rice protein, in 6, 10, 30 and 40 volume. 6 volume for tone-on-tone deposit, 10 for same-level or darker, 30 and 40 for lift, super lighteners and bleach.
Lightening
- Insight Incolor White Bleaching Powder with Ammonia — compact, dust-free, fast, low odour; 1:2, up to 45 minutes.
- Insight Incolor Multi-Technique Hair Bleaching Powder — clay-rich and paintable for free-hand balayage and foils; 1:2, up to 40 minutes.
- Insight Incolor Bleaching Fluid — gentle 1:1 fluid for soft lightening, pre-colour, softening regrowth and removing colour build-up; 5 to 20 minutes.
Before and after the service
Insight INtech Pretreatment Shampoo prepares the hair; Insight INtech Dermal Protector protects the skin along the hairline. After colour, Insight Incolor Neutralizing Shampoo and Insight Incolor Neutralizing Mask restore the hair's acidic pH. For reconstruction, Insight Rebuild Hair Filler Serum (Step 1) and Insight Rebuild Hair Cuticle Sealer (Step 2).
