How to choose

Cutting shears by length and handle

Compare Duo 5 in, VS 5.25 in and Classic 5.5 in for compact handling, Crane 6 in for its handle angle, and BB 7 in for longer barber passes. The two Designer 5.75 in models differ in offset versus molded handles; DY-782C also specifies a micro-serrated edge.

True left-handed cutting

Choose the dedicated L-50NC if you cut left-handed. Its blade orientation is designed for that hand; moving a finger rest on a right-handed shear does not create the same cutting arrangement.

Thinning and texturizing

The 24-tooth BLEND is 5.5 in; Cobalt DUO-THNC uses 35 teeth at 5.75 in. Designer offers two 30-tooth 5.75 in models: offset DY-781C and molded-handle DY-788C. Compare tooth layout and grip together rather than choosing tooth count as a universal removal percentage.

Your questions, answered

What changes between Designer shears?
Compare the cutting DY-782C offset andDY-786C molded grip, or the 30-tooth DY-781C offset andDY-788C molded thinners. The family name alone does not identify the handle or cutting type.
Which brush measurement should I use?
Use the listed size and SKU within that brush family. Nature Pro row counts describe bristle layout; they cannot be converted into a barrel diameter without a stated measurement.
