Insight MAN is the Italian brand's men's grooming range: beard cleansing, beard oils, a shave-and-face cream, and a fluid gel that works on hair and beard. It is a small, focused range, and there are two things worth knowing before you buy.
Read this first: the range is largely delisted
Insight has discontinued most of the MAN range at the manufacturer. That is not a knock on the products — it is a range decision in Italy — but it does change how you should buy. What ProHair holds is what remains. If one of these works for you, buy the size you want when you see it rather than assuming it will be restockable later.
It also means we are careful about claims here. Insight confirms Vegan OK and Nickel Tested on its current products; those certifications are not evidenced for the delisted items, so we do not claim them for this range.
The products
Beard Cleanser (250 ml)
A dedicated beard wash. Beard hair sits on facial skin, which behaves differently from the scalp, and a beard cleanser is formulated for that rather than borrowed from a shampoo bottle.
One honest note: this is a sulphate-bearing cleanser — Magnesium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Coco-Sulfate are near the top of its ingredient list. If you are specifically avoiding sulphates on your face, this is not the product for you, and we would rather say so here than let you find out at home.
Best for: a full beard that needs washing properly rather than rinsing.
Nourishing Beard Oil (50 ml)
The classic beard oil, and for most people the single most useful product in the range. Beard oil does two jobs at once: it softens coarse beard hair so it lies down, and it conditions the skin underneath, which is where beard itch actually comes from.
Best for: anyone with a beard past the stubble stage. If you buy one Insight MAN product, buy this.
Multifunctional Beard & Shaving Oil (50 ml)
The same idea, but dual-purpose: a beard oil that also works as a pre-shave oil. Pre-shave oil lets the blade move over the skin instead of dragging on it, which is what reduces irritation on the neck.
Best for: men who shave the neckline and wear a beard above it — one bottle covering both jobs.
Choosing between the two oils: if you never shave, take the Nourishing Beard Oil. If you shave around a beard regularly, the Multifunctional is the more useful bottle.
Emollient After Shave and Face Cream (100 ml)
The post-shave step, doubling as an everyday face cream. Shaving is exfoliation whether you intend it or not, and the skin behaves better afterwards if something goes back on it.
Best for: anyone who shaves and currently puts nothing on afterwards.
Hair & Beard Fluid Gel Styling (100 ml)
A light fluid gel that Insight positions for both hair and beard — useful for taming a beard that grows outwards, and for light hold on the hair without a separate product.
Best for: shorter beards that need shaping, and anyone who wants one bottle on the shelf instead of two.
Aluminum Shaving Soap Box
Worth being blunt about: this is an empty aluminium box with a hinged lid and the Insight logo engraved on it. It is a container for a shaving soap puck. It does not come with soap in it. It is listed because it is part of the MAN range, not because it is a grooming product in its own right.
Building a routine
- Minimum: Nourishing Beard Oil. That is it — one product, daily, worked into the skin as much as the hair.
- Proper beard routine: Beard Cleanser to wash, Nourishing Beard Oil daily, Hair & Beard Fluid Gel to shape.
- Beard plus a shaved neckline: Beard Cleanser, Multifunctional Beard & Shaving Oil before the blade, Emollient After Shave and Face Cream afterwards.
