Insight Professional by Hair Type: Fine, Thick, Curly, Coloured and Beard

Concern-led shopping works when you have one obvious problem. When you do not, it is usually easier to start from what your hair is rather than what it is doing. This guide sorts the Insight range by hair type.

Fine hair

Fine hair goes flat and greasy at the roots faster than it gets dry at the ends, so the risk is weighing it down. Stay away from the heavy masks and oils as an everyday habit.

Wash: Energizing Shampoo from the Daily Use line — the least specialised, lightest-touch cleanser in the range.
Between washes: Bodifying Dry Shampoo (40 g). This is the single most useful Insight product for fine hair; it buys a day between washes and adds body at the root.
Style: Mattifying Pomade for texture without shine-weight, or Elastic Fiber Paste for separation.
Avoid as a default: the 400 ml masks and the hair oils, unless you are using them on the ends only.

Thick and coarse hair

Thick hair can take — and generally needs — the richer end of the range.

Wash: Nourishing Shampoo (Dry Hair line) if the lengths feel rough, or Anti-Frizz Hydrating Shampoo if the problem is volume you cannot control.
Treat: Anti-Frizz Hydrating Mask, 400 ml, weekly.
Smooth: Oil Non Oil for frizz control without added oil, or Liquid Crystals for shine.
Hold: Hold Cement Gel or Elastic Molding Wax.

Curly and wavy hair

This is where Insight is strongest in our range, because Elasti-Curl is complete — wash, mask, leave-in, oil and spray, with nothing missing.

Wash: Pure Mild Shampoo
Treat: Curly Hair Detangling Mask (200 ml tube)
Leave in: Leave-In Detangling Hair Milk
Define: Bouncy Curls Hair Oil
Hold: Light Hold Fixative Hair Spray

If you are only buying two things, make them the mask and the hair milk.

Colour-treated hair

Everyday: Color Protective Shampoo (Colored Hair line).
If you are blonde or highlighted: add the Cold Reflections Hair Mask, which contains Acid Violet 43 and is the genuine cool-tone product in our Insight range.
Outdoors a lot: the Protective Hair Spray from the Antioxidant line addresses pollution and sun exposure — though not heat, and Insight states the family is formulated without UV filters.

Do not buy the Neutralizing Shampoo or Neutralizing Mask to keep your colour cool. They are post-colour pH acidifiers with no pigment in them, and they are Pro Only.

Dry and damaged lengths

Wash: Nourishing Shampoo
Treat: Anti-Frizz Hydrating Mask weekly
Finish: Illuminating Hair Oil-Serum on damp ends

Insight's own Damaged Hair line — which it calls Restructurizing — is not part of the Canadian assortment we carry, so this three-step build is the closest complete routine the current range supports.

Beards

See the dedicated Insight MAN guide. In short: the beard oils are the product most people want, and the range is one Insight has largely delisted at the manufacturer, so what we hold is what remains.
