Barbicide Disinfectant Concentrate
The iconic blue concentrate is a broad-spectrum disinfectant for non-porous tools — combs, brushes, rollers, shears, razors and manicure implements. It contains an anti-rust agent to protect metal and does not stain. Shop the 1.89 L concentrate.
How to mix
- Fill the jar with 32 oz (about 950 ml) of water.
- Add 2 oz (about 60 ml) of concentrate.
- Stir gently. The solution should be a clear, bright blue.
One 1.89 L bottle makes about 30 jar fills.
How to use
- Clean the tool first with soap and water — disinfectant cannot work through hair and product.
- Immerse it completely in the solution for the contact time on the label.
- Lift it out, rinse and let it air-dry.
- Replace the solution every day, or sooner if it turns cloudy.
Choosing a jar
The Barbicide Disinfecting Jar has thick glass, a stainless steel lid and a lift-out basket. The Midsize (621 ml) suits standard combs and nail implements; the Large, tall jar (1.09 L) fully covers long barber combs and shears.
Clippers need a different product
You cannot immerse a clipper. Clippercide is an aerosol that disinfects, lubricates, cleans and cools blades while the clipper runs.
FAQ
Why did my solution turn cloudy?
Hair, product or oil has contaminated it. Empty, rinse the jar and mix fresh solution.
Can I leave tools in overnight?
Follow the contact time on the label, then remove, rinse and dry tools; long soaking is unnecessary.
