Termix is a Spanish maker of professional hair tools, and its Evolution thermal round brush is a fixture at salon blow-dry stations. Every Evolution brush has a PTFE-coated, non-stick barrel with diamond-shaped vents that Termix says cut drying time by up to 30%, ionized nylon fibres that control static and frizz, and an ergonomic non-slip handle.

You choose the version by your hair's thickness: Soft (cream) for fine, fragile hair, Basic (silver) for medium hair and Plus (dark) for thick, coarse hair, each in 17, 23, 32, 43 and 60mm. XL has a barrel 3 cm longer for long hair, in 23, 32 and 43mm. The Termix hairbrush cleaner keeps them all clear of trapped hair.

Which Termix Evolution brush should I choose?
Choose by thickness. Soft is for fine or fragile hair, Basic for medium-thickness hair, and Plus for thick, coarse or frizzy hair. If your hair is long and takes a long time to dry, XL gives you a barrel 3 cm longer, so each pass covers a wider section.
Which diameter do I need?
Choose a barrel that the section wraps around about once. Use 17 or 23mm for fringes, short cuts and tight bends, 32mm for chin to shoulder length, and 43 or 60mm for smooth volume on long hair. If you only buy one, take 32mm for short to mid-length hair or 43mm for long hair.
What does the PTFE barrel do?
The non-stick PTFE coating stands up to high dryer heat, passes it into the hair, and resists hairspray build-up. Termix says the diamond-shaped vents add about 10% more surface and cut drying time by up to 30%.
What are ionized fibres?
Termix uses ionized nylon fibres in the Evolution range. They grip the hair without tearing it and help control static and frizz, so the blow-dry comes out shinier.
How do I tell the versions apart?
By the barrel colour: Soft is cream, Basic is silver and Plus is dark. XL looks like a standard Evolution brush with a barrel 3 cm longer.
How should I clean my round brush?
Pull out the trapped hair after each use. The Termix hairbrush cleaner has long prongs that slide down to the barrel. Wash the brush in warm water with a little shampoo now and then if it has product build-up.
